Dr Albert Aralar graduated from the University of Queensland in 1990.
In 1998 he completed his Ophthalmology specialty training in Queensland.
Further specialist training was undertaken at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and the Royal Surrey County Hospital after he was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Bursary in 1999.
He then spent the next two years in Vancouver, Canada where he completed two Fellowships with the University of British Columbia and went on to complete a post-graduate Vitreoretinal fellowship in 2002.
He is currently appointed as a Visiting Medical Officer at Brisbane Day Surgery, formally Queensland Eye Hospital, St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
He is the past Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the PAH and one of the investigators with the Ozurdex Study at Terrace Eye Centre.
Dr Aralar practices at Terrace Eye Centre, Oxford eye Centre and Redlands Eye Specialists.
He has special interests in retinal diseases and surgery; including age related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular holes and diabetic retinopathy.
